Several jokes are being cracked along with some biker groups and local people over here at a Dhaba. Today we stopped at Darcha around 7 KM from Jispa and got lot of time to make people laugh with our funny jokes. The artist is with a pen and paper, the chef is busy making some snacks; why should I be left behind? Let me spare some time with my pen to finish the write up.
After yesterday's disastrous ride, we had already made our mind to take some time and re-energize our self along with the bike maintenance and servicing. With that thought in mind, we all got up very late in the morning at around 0800 Hrs. Before starting bike maintenance, we roamed around the near by place to explore the beautiful scenic view of Jispa. The wild river, the snow cap mountains, clustered clouds with the contrast blue sky and chilled climate gave us all those feeling that one expect while traveling through the Himalayas. It was worth spending a day exploring the local places, people and culture.
With out much delay, we spent some time repairing the puncture followed by bike wash and servicing. While we were doing our job, we enjoyed our breakfast and also got a chance to interact with Mr. Paldan (retired from Indo Tibetian Border Police Force). Mr. Paldan shared some of the rare facts of the Himalayan ranges and also shared the details of some trekking routes from Jispa.
By afternoon 2 O' clock, we finished everything and got ready with our packed luggage. As the food at tent stay was not that great yesterday, we thought of trying our luck out side. While we were having food, we came to know from some other bikers that, after Darcha we have to cross several water streams to reach Patsio and it is going to be difficult in the afternoon due to rised water level from melting show. So no point travelling further and we started looking out for a place to pitch the tent.
Pretty relaxing ride, enjoying the magnificent landscapes of Jispa and finally reached Darcha check post. We stopped at a dhaba for tea and heard that a storm approaching from Jispa carrying lot of rain with in it. With in 10 minutes of time the entire climate changed and it started raining. It's been couple of hours, but no stop and according to the locals it looks like it will be raining the whole night. Locals strictly told not to get out of the Dhada as it's extreme weather out side. Good that we did not pitch our tent today.
