An usual working day, was busy solving problems with my little capable hands when Santhosh gave me a call. Eagerness to strike out of regular office work, made me pick the call even before first ring completed. The message was loud and clear, Manali - Leh travel expedition on July, 2015. Dates were freezed and tickets were booked. We weren't alone this time; we had friends to be part of the same. Days weren't far, when we started preparing our self; discussions took place in various forums of various types. It was the day, when I came across a travel story, which made us change our decision of doing this expedition on bicycle. Many were unhappy and sad, where few appreciated by joining the team. It wasn't a pair anymore, a team of three evolved for a cycling expedition, which surprised everyone.
It was not easy; it was not simple, eagerness to do something different made us stick with our goal. Some people worried about us,some admired, some cared, some scared and a few never wanted us to do this. Curiosity to challenge our self on those Himalayan roads, curiosity to experience the thin air, curiosity to cycle in those freezing cold climate made us stand alone and separate among the other crowd. There was no way to back out, rather than to make our self capable for a challenging expedition ahead. We challenged our lifestyle, we challenged our fitness and got our self to those extreme training's week over week. We trained our mind and body capable enough to handle the situations coming ahead. Bikes, gears and ourselves were tested and trained on various training rides.
It's the last night before we kickoff, we have packed our gears, bikes and a strong determined mind for the much awaited expedition, which we are going to start from tomorrow. The anxiety is not letting us sleep tonight. We don't know what would be the experience, We don't know what would be the result; we are least bothered. The thing We know is; We have to do this.
